MSNBC - Frasier's finale didn't need gimmicks
Looks like I'm through watching TV for awhile now. With no Friend's, no Fraiser, and all reality TV all hours. At least now I have an excuse not to watch television.
Quote from MSNBC
And Frasier bade farewell to his radio audience via a Tennyson quote: %u201CIt may be that the gulfs will wash us down; It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles, And see the great Achilles whom we knew.

May 10th is Stick it to Them Day
I've gotten a few emails over the Stick it to them day that is supposed to take place on May 19th. It's a great idea, but it doesn't go far enough. If you really want to hurt the oil companies, don't drive your car at all on the 19th. All you do by not purchasing on the 19th yet still drive is delay the money flow into the oil company's pockets.

Create an email newsletter out of an RSS feed
Seems simple enough, phpList is supposed to support creating an email newsletter from an RSS feed straight out of the box. Well that's what they say. I've fiddled with it for a good 30 minutes (after I had it setup and running). I just can't get it to send a message from my RSS feed. I'm kind of disappointed as I was hoping to offer RSS feeds via email for folks who don't have or wouldn't know how to setup a feed reader.

What is needed for the perfect blog
Dave Pollard has written an interesting blog entry about what blogs need. Definitely worth the read. And don't worry, the scroll bar doesn't reflect the size of the article, just the number of links he has in the sidebar.
How to Save the World
Everyone has their own specifications for what they'd like blogs to do. ... This article is an attempt to create a scorecard of what blogs can and cannot presently do, and what they should be able to do.

A sports arenea for downtown Kansas City?
Looks like I might be one of the first to blog this, but the Mayor of Kansas City has a "major" announcement she's making this morning at 11 AM. According to sources on the local Fox affiliate's sources, they're saying it is the announcement of a downtown sports arena at 14th and Grand. Sounds interesting...

Cycling in the Northland
Went for a ride tonight. Great stuff, huh? The Northland in Kansas City is really great for cycling. There's a multitude of empty country roads where you can pedal to your heart's content. The only thing that messes up this cycle-induced nirvana are the self-absorbed roadiacs (it's my blog, I can make up words if I want) who speed their souped up family sedans or quasi-military vehicles (I would link, but I don't want to subject you to the flash intro at Hummer.

Font Garden - daily downloads of free fonts!
Talk about a cool site! Font Garden will make a font out of your hand writing. I've gotta do this... That'd be great for this site. And at $25, that's cheap.

Welp, it seems I was the first in blogland to bring you the story, and it looks like it's going to happen.
Quote from Kansas City Star
Mayor Kay Barnes today unveiled plans for a $225 million to $250 million downtown arena, saying nearly half the financing will come from Anschutz Entertainment Group, Sprint Corp.

Politics on Feedster
Feedster has an interesting service available for politics. They have several categories available, including Libertarian which doesn't have a single entry. Is there not a viable Libertarian running this year? Hmm... maybe I should announce my candidacy. Oh yeah, you have to be 35. Well, you could always do a write-in Presidential vote for Travis Swicegood.
