First Friday @ the Crossroads pictures online
I snapped a few shots down at First Fridays @ the Crossroads this past week. I've put a few of them online now at Me and Travis. More to come...

From the Crossroads by Travis Swicegood :: What is my info?
Just announced a new site, WhatIsMyInfo.com. It's just a utility to figure out where you're coming from and what face you're putting forward. Sounds almost philosophical, doesn't it?

Internet Explorer developers should be shot on sight
I wish we could shoot Internet Explorer developers on sight. Their contributions to the human race an negligible, and they have done a lot of harm. They won't support PNG images in their browser, which is a crime. You know... I wonder if they own some of the rights of GIF images and they're laying in wait getting ready to pounce on everyone for using "their" image format illegally.

MSN Search Engine
Isn't it funny how Microsoft competes? Instead of offering a superior product, they just block the competition. Check out this message I get when I click on "Submit a website" from the MSN Search site.

Shifting the blame
I'm getting tired of hearing about the abuse in Iraq. Not because I'm a bury my head in the sand kind of guy who doesn't like to hear bad news. Quite the contrary. I'm getting tired of it because all of the focus is on the soldiers. In the military, there is a chain of command, and everyone is responsible for everyone below them. Do you honestly think that some reservists are going to pose with prisoners and take pictures without their superiors knowing about it?

Yahoo! keeps messing with me
I'm starting to get feed up with Yahoo!. They keep toying with me. One minute I'm a hot commodity, the next I'm nowhere to be found. I'm talking about the Yahoo! search for "Travis". I've been as high as 3rd, and so low I couldn't even find myself. The site that has been listed is From the Crossroads.
What really got me is that for a few days, I was ousted by someone who had registerd the .

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. Yesterday, I gave probably the best mother's day gift of all time! What is it you ask? Flowers? A dozen roses? A trip to a day spa (I actually thought about that!)? A trip to Hawaii? No! None of those come nearly as close to what I got her.
A Gary Fisher Tiburon bike! :) I've been hassling my mom to ride a bike more often but she kept saying she didn't have a bike (a valid argument I guess).

Picture taking adventures
After taking Mom out for Mother's Day, I did a little picture taking. I've found a neat little "waterfall" and a cool old railroad bridge. Look for pictures coming soon to Me And Travis.

BlogKC ? KCPD speeder crackdown
And I saw my first "crackdown" today. On south 169 heading into Downtown, a KCMO police car came up and tailed a motorcycle who was obviously speeding in the 55 zone (he passed me and I was going 60+) until he hit the 35 zone and busted him.
Brings up an ethical question. Is it alright for a cop to observe a "crime" and do nothing about it waiting for a bigger, or in this case more lucrative as far as the department is concerned, crime to be committed?

Longhorn to Mozilla: Can't We All Get Along?
Microsoft's technology evangelist is offering "friendly" suggestions to Mozilla open source browser groups and calling for more discussion about how the two sides can benefit from upcoming enhancements in Longhorn, the next version of Windows.
It appears Microsoft is trying to make nice with the folks over at Mozilla. Could it just be a wolf in sheeps clothing? Firefox represents a real threat to Internet Explorer. Maybe by bringing the enemy into the same camp they can attempt play the ol' "
