Recording TV-IN in Linux
One word of advice - don't do it! It's really not worth the time. I've probably spent a good 4 - 5 hours piddling with this darn card. I can watch TV, but recording... Forget about it. And timer recording? Ha! You're making me laugh! :

Free Culture by Lawrence Lessig
I'm working on a new book, Free Culture by Lawrence Lessig. Dumb me, I actually paid for the book. It's available for under the Creative Commons to download for free. :)
It looks to be an interesting read. It deals with the current situation with "property rights", property being intellectual, creative, and otherwise. I've made it through the first chapter, and Lessig has an interesting style. His writing could be more concise, but he seems to be a thorough writer and wants to insure that his readers fully understand the points he makes.

Old news - Tyler Hamilton wins final stage and keeps the yellow jersey at Tour de Romendi
Tyler dominated the final time trial stage at the Tour de Romandie beating Bradly McGee by just over 35 seconds! This is old news, it happened a few weeks ago, but it just came on OLN. An unbelievable beating...

Petacchi has "double-turbo" on his bike
Petacchi takes another stage win today. The commentators said he was "looking too cool" with 400 meters to go as he didn't immediately cover the final attack. His guy who was playing it cool ended up a half a bike length in front of his nearest challenger and nearly three in front of the original attacker, Pollack who finished 4th.
On another note, McEwen got disqualified in today's finish.

Speaking of CreativeCommons.org
I've been meaning to do this, and my article on Lessig.org just reminded me again. I've now licensed this site under the Creative Commons Attribute / Non-Commercial / Share Alike license. Essentially, do what you like with this content so long as I get credit as its originator and you're not making anything off of it. Hey, I'm not getting paid to write this stuff either! :)

Francois pulled a fast one on us! He released v0.9 a day early for us Americans! :) Grab your copy today (or bug me to install it as the case may be Sarah...). Looks like there's a whole host of new features. This site, as well as Crossroads will be switching over soon.

b2evolution 0.9 upgrade
Wow! Great job Francois! The upgrade took about 10 minutes and most of that was spent figuring out where my customizations were. Very smooth. One thing did cause some trouble though, the datbase password field seemed to get eaten by the config script when I chmod'd _config.php. A bug maybe?

Cunego takes Pink
Italian and Simoni's Saeco teammate pulls off the win and pulls on the pink jersey at the top of stage 7. Cunego covered every attack on the slopes of Montevergine, never helping anyone as they badgered Simoni all the way up. Cunego was picked by many to win the stage today, but OLN's commentators had their doubts until they saw him cover each attack with ease. Cunego is in his second Giro.

Yahoo's all about this Travis
Well, that was pretty nifty. Launching this site and the announcement that appeared on my From the Crossroads blog moved me up in the rankings on the Yahoo! search for "Travis". Now the only site I have to dethrone is the band Travis. Watch out Travis the band, I'm coming after you! :)
P.S. Yes, it is shameless self (that would be me, Travis) promotion. I want this site (that would be Travis Swicegood dot com) in there, too.
